Solaredge Solar Inverter

Single Phase Inverter

The SolarEdge single phase inverter is specifically designed to work with the SolarEdge power optimisers. Because MPPT and voltage management are handled separately for each panel by the power optimiser, the inverter is only responsible for DC to AC inversion. Consequently, it is a simpler, more cost effective, more reliable solar inverter with a standard 12-year warranty, extendable to 20 or 25 years.

Three Phase Inverter

The SolarEdge three phase inverter combines sophisticated digital control technology with efficient power conversion architecture to achieve superior solar power harvesting and best-in-class reliability. The fixed-voltage technology ensures the solar inverter is always working at its optimal input voltage, regardless of the number of panels in a string or environmental conditions.

Inverter Features, Monitoring details

The monitoring platform provides enhanced PV performance monitoring and yield assurance through immediate fault detection and alerts at the panel level, string level and system level. No hardware or wiring is required to transmit data from the power optimisers to the inverter: the monitoring sensors and transmitters are built into the SolarEdge power optimiser and solar inverter, and measurement data is transmitted over the regular power lines.

Solaredge

SolarEdge developed an intelligent inverter technology that transformed how power is harvested and controlled in a solar photovoltaic (PV) system. The SolarEdge direct current (DC) optimised inverter technology maximises power generation at the individual PV panel level while minimising energy costs from the solar PV system. The SolarEdge system, which includes inverters, power optimizers, storage solutions, and a monitoring platform, targets a wide range of solar market segments, from residential to commercial and small utility-scale solar systems. The SolarEdge system improves power harvesting and panel management by deploying power optimizers to each PV panel while keeping the alternating current (AC) inversion and grid interfacing centralised via a streamlined DC-AC inverter.

All SolarEdge central PV inverters combine the advantages of string and micro inverters and are specifically engineered to function with SolarEdge power optimizers. This enables maximum power output due to module-level maximum power point tracking (MPPT) and mitigates the consequences of module mismatch caused by shade or deterioration. SolarEdge optimisers reduce power imbalance between panels and come with a 25-year warranty, whereas inverters have a basic 12-year warranty that can be extended to 20-25 years for a cost. Since its commercial launch in 2010, SolarEdge has supplied roughly 6.7 Gigawatts (GW) of DC optimised inverter systems, with products installed in solar PV systems in 120 countries. Helpful Faq’s

Currently, there are two federal government incentives in Australia for homeowners installing solar panels, which include Small-scale Technology Certificates and Feed-in Tariffs. Some of the states provides additional rebates when you install solar power on your home.

  • Small-Scale Technology Certificates (STCs)
  • Feed-in Tariffs.
  • Empowering Homes solar battery loan.
  • Solar for Low-income Households.
  • State Government Rebates (Subject to Eligibility)

The most popular solar system sizes depend on your electricity usage. Here's a general guideline:

  • For homes with a quarterly bill of $350-$500: A 6.6 kW system is common.
  • For homes with a quarterly bill of $500-$800: A 10 kW system is ideal.
  • For three-phase power properties: Systems of 10 kW or more are popular due to feed-in tariff benefits.
  • Your budget: While LG NeON panels perform well, they may cost more than others. Consider the cost-benefit balance based on your budget and priorities.
  • Your electricity needs: The FAQ mentioned system sizes based on quarterly electricity bills. Estimate your needs to determine the appropriate system size (kW).
  • Sun exposure: If your roof gets limited sunlight, LG NeON's double-sided design might be advantageous. Standard panels may suffice with good sun exposure.
  • Roof space: Higher wattage panels need less space, but efficiency (LG NeON) might be more important if space is limited.
  • Local regulations: Check for any local regulations that might influence your choice.
  • Warranty: Look for panels with strong warranties (like LG's 25 years) for long-term performance.
